Picked it up on sale though because I like games with mods and that one has them. I bought Black Ops1 the day it came out, to find it that it was unplayable on my rig and had to wait 2 months for them to make patches, and by then i could get the game for half the price i originally paid. But Ive "copied" some games that were simply not worth it, being buggy and all that, and i would have been pissed if i paid for something broken and personally ive no problem doing it for a game like that. Thats true, i cant play devils advocate there since you covered everything. They are still going to get paid there salary, but you are hurting the smaller guys because they are the first to go if profits do not get reached. I have a bunch of games on steam, the only company I care about a lot is CDProjektRed but I still payed for my other games because I know it makes a difference in peoples lives.Īnd on a side note, when you 'steal' 'copy' what ever you want to call it you are not hurting the big CEO's of the company. That is where the negative impact comes from. What gives you the incentive to ever pay for games if you don't have to. You might 'copy' all your games but you really like GTA5 but wait why pay for it when you can 'copy' it.

They will not lose money on a product you will not buy but if you download all your games, movies, and music who's to stop you from doing that when it comes to something you would actually buy.

So while I can't argue the first one the second one I can. Ok, it's not stealing than it's copying when it comes to digital goods.

Two, do they developers lose money if you pirate the game that you would never buy anyway? In either case they arent getting any money from you.

They dont have something less, they didnt lose something.
